Allen Stone: The Man We Remember As We Compete When this race was run for the first time in 1999, it was called the Braveheart Run-Swim-Run. Allen Stone, a local Navy SEAL and friend of the organizers, competed in the event and won the 20–29 male age group. Tragically, it was Allen’s last race. A short time later, he died during a Navy SEAL training exercise. To honor his courageous service, the race committee decided to rename the race as a memorial to our fallen friend and local hero. We hope you'll share our appreciation for Allen’s courageous spirit and participate in this exciting, family-friendly sporting event in Virginia Beach. With Allen's enthusiastic zeal for life and outgoing personality, we know he would have welcomed you!

Who is 94.9 the Point's Woo Woo

What is the personal Running accomplishment you are most proud of?
I’m the morning drive radio host on WPTE-FM for over 10 years. My on-air name is Woo Woo on “The Morning Point.” We have a large and loyal audience that are active, engaged and health conscience. My co-workers and I developed the “The Run with Woo” program to raise money for organizations in our community. We are now associated with all the charitable runs in the community from Mini Miles to Marathons. We go on-air and on-line to award racing bibs to our loyal listeners and create a team to raise money every month. info@ Pointradio.com

Why is running important to you?
Running allows me to do something I truly enjoy and I can help people by using my voice, my legs and passion to raise millions of dollars annually for those in need. This year alone, includes the NAVY SEAL Foundation, The USO, Wounded Warrior, The Alzheimer’s Association, The Children’s Hospital of the Kings Daughters and dozens more. I run to stay healthy and help others stay and be healthy. I am fortunate as I am in a position of influence to help my community and the neighborhood I call home.
